The wooden prow cuts through.
Carved runes of fortune,
curl in a spiral at its head.
The plum planks slap
the wave, slap the wave, pushing

against the friction,
between the contrasting worlds,
of air and water.
Where we go, I don’t know.
Beyond any memorised maps of mortals,
we face the unknown depths,
within and without.

Inspired by our continuous journey of navigating change and uncertainty, using Fred Polack’s foundational “Images of the Future” (1973) - “The future is like an endless ocean”.
These images are shaped by four worldviews of personal agency to create your future. To navigate alternative futures as an endless ocean requires the greatest skill, responsibility and self-belief.
